Let’s kick things off by diving into some of the less-known aspects of the Law of Attraction. One of the most powerful, yet often overlooked tools in this process is gratitude. Imagine waking up every morning with a genuine sense of thankfulness for everything in your life—big and small. When you’re truly grateful, you’re sending out positive vibes that the universe picks up on. It’s like telling the universe, “Hey, I love this! Can I have more, please?” And guess what? The universe responds with a resounding yes.
I remember a time when I was just starting out in my career and things were tough. Money was tight and I was constantly worried about how I’d make ends meet. But then, I stumbled upon the idea of practicing gratitude. It seemed too simple to work, but I decided to give it a try. Every morning, I’d jot down a few things I was grateful for—my daughter’s laughter, a good cup of tea, even just the fact that I had a roof over my head. Slowly but surely, my mindset started to shift. I wasn’t focused on what I didn’t have anymore; I was appreciating what I did have. And almost like magic, opportunities started to open up. My business began to grow, and I found myself in a much better place financially and emotionally.
Now, emotions. This is a biggie. It’s not enough to just think about what you want; you have to feel it. Picture your dream house, that perfect job, or an amazing relationship. Close your eyes and really dive into those feelings. How does it feel to walk through the door of that dream house? How does it feel to wake up excited for work every day? When your emotions align with your desires, you’re vibrating at the right frequency. It’s like tuning into your favourite radio station—when you hit the right frequency, the music plays loud and clear.
Now, here’s something that might surprise you: what most people refer to as the Law of Attraction is actually rooted in a deeper principle known as the Law of Vibration. Everything in the universe is energy—including you, me, your furniture and even money. This energy is constantly vibrating at different frequencies. The Law of Vibration states that nothing rests; everything is in constant motion. When you focus your thoughts and emotions on a particular outcome, you’re tuning your personal energy to match that of your desire. This isn’t just mystical talk; it’s grounded in real scientific principles. Your thoughts and feelings are like a signal you’re sending out into the universe and the universe responds by matching that frequency.
Let’s take it a step further with visualisation. This isn’t just about picturing the end result; it’s about visualising the entire process. Imagine yourself taking the steps, overcoming obstacles and feeling the emotions that come with each milestone. This makes your vision more believable and achievable. One of my friends, who’s a successful entrepreneur, shared with me how she visualised every step of building her business. She didn’t just see herself as a successful business owner; she saw herself working late nights, pitching to clients and even dealing with setbacks. By visualising the journey, not just the destination, she aligned herself with the reality of being a successful entrepreneur and today, she’s living that reality.
But there’s an even deeper level to this—engaging your senses. To really trick your brain into believing your visualisation is real, you need to make it as vivid as possible by incorporating at least three of your senses: sight, sound, touch, taste, and smell. This sensory engagement makes the experience feel real and convincing to your brain.
Imagine your dream job. Close your eyes and see yourself in your new office (sight). Hear the sounds around you—the murmur of colleagues, the hum of the air conditioner, or the sound of your keyboard (hearing). Feel the smooth surface of your desk, the texture of your chair, or even the warmth of your morning coffee mug (touch). Maybe you can even imagine the scent of fresh coffee or the taste of a celebratory lunch (smell and taste). By engaging multiple senses, you make the visualization more realistic, which helps your brain accept it as your reality.
Common Misconceptions and Misuses of the Law of Attraction
Now, let’s get real about some common misconceptions that trip people up. A lot of folks think that all they need to do is wish for something and poof, it appears. But that’s not how it works. The Law of Attraction (or more accurately, the Law of Vibration) is always working, but it can only bring you what you believe you deserve and what you feel you can have.
Let’s talk about money, one of the biggest areas where people struggle. I’ve seen this time and time again with clients I’ve worked with—many of them have this deep-seated belief that wanting money isn’t spiritual or that they have to work hard and suffer to deserve it. But here’s the truth: everything is energy, including money. And since energy vibrates, the way you think and feel about money decides the frequency at which you’re vibrating. If you’re constantly worried about not having enough, you’re vibrating at a frequency of lack and that’s exactly what you’ll attract.
I had a client who came to me because she was struggling financially. She was working two jobs, constantly stressed, and felt like no matter how hard she worked, she just couldn’t get ahead. When we dug deeper, it became clear that she had grown up hearing things like “money doesn’t grow on trees” and “we can’t afford that.” These beliefs had created a mindset of lack, which was blocking her from attracting wealth. Together, we worked on shifting her mindset. She started practicing gratitude, visualising abundance and most importantly, she began to believe that she deserved financial success. Another misconception is that money can only come from your job. If you believe that’s the only way you’ll get money, that’s exactly what will happen. But money can come from countless, unexpected sources. When you start to believe that money can come from anywhere and everywhere, you open up to the possibilities.
I’ve seen this happen in my own life. A few years ago, I was focused on growing my business and I believed that was the only way I could increase my income. But once I opened my mind to other possibilities, opportunities started showing up in the most unexpected places—investments, collaborations, even unexpected gifts. The universe has an infinite number of ways to bring you what you want; you just have to be open to receiving it.
We are unlimited beings living in a world filled with limitless opportunities and resources. But we often limit ourselves with our beliefs. We think we need to work harder or suffer more to deserve wealth. These thoughts create barriers that keep us from accessing the abundance that is naturally ours.
One of my friends, who grew up in a financially struggling family, always believed that she was destined for the same life. She thought that because her parents didn’t have much, she wouldn’t either. But after learning about the Law of Vibration—she started to change her beliefs. She began to see that she wasn’t bound by her past and that she could create a different future. I started telling myself every day that I was worthy of success and over time, I began to believe it. And as I believed it, the opportunities started to flow in, and this time, I was ready to seize them.
I've seen this pattern many times with clients. Opportunities, projects and relationships slipped away because they didn't see themselves at the right level, the right vibration. If you see yourself as below a certain level, you’re essentially pushing that level away from you.
I have a friend who seems to attract bad luck like a magnet. Despite knowing about the law of attraction, he constantly thinks about the negative possibilities before they even happen. He visualises himself in negative situations and unsurprisingly, they manifest.
For instance, he often worries about getting parking tickets. Before even parking his car, he imagines returning to find a ticket on his windshield. And guess what? It happens more often than not. He visualises it so vividly—he sees the ticket, feels the frustration and hears the ripping sound as he pulls it from under the wiper. By focusing so intensely on what he doesn’t want, he inadvertently attracts it.
This pattern extends to other areas of his life. He often expects the worst in social situations, like predicting negative interactions with clients or potential business setbacks. He visualises these negative outcomes so clearly that they almost seem inevitable. And unfortunately, they usually come true.
When I discovered the law of attraction, I decided to put it to the test in my daily life. I started by visualising positive outcomes in various aspects of my work and personal life, engaging my emotions and senses to make these visualisations as real as possible.
For example, the banal thing of finding parking spots, I applied the same principles. Before leaving home, I visualised arriving at my destination and easily finding a perfect parking spot. I felt the relief and satisfaction of parking quickly (emotion), saw the open spot waiting for me (sight), heard the sound of my car smoothly sliding into the space (hearing) and felt the texture of my steering wheel as I manoeuvred into place (touch). This practice made a noticeable difference. More often than not, I’d find a great spot with minimal hassle.
Think of it this way: If something feels natural and balanced to you, it means you're already at that level. If it excites you or creates a strong emotional response, it often shows that you see it as above your current level. Emotions are movements that shift your vibration. Feeling excitement about something usually means you don’t fully believe you’re there yet.

Understanding this, we can use the law of vibration to balance ourselves and naturally manifest our goals. If a goal violates the laws of duality or fair exchange, it won’t materialise, no matter how much you try to raise your frequency. For example, chasing a relationship out of desperation will only push it away. The key is to ensure that your goals align with these universal principles.
So why is understanding the Law of Vibration so important? Because it empowers you to take control of your life. When you understand and apply its principles, you can shift your mindset, attract positive experiences, and live a more fulfilling life. It’s not just about material wealth; it’s about emotional and spiritual growth too.
The thoughts that you think control the vibration you’re in and that vibration dictates what you attract. If you keep attracting what you don’t want, understand this: it’s your belief causing the problem. You might be thinking new thoughts, but if they don’t align with your existing beliefs, they won’t stick. This is why it’s so important to change the paradigm itself.
Think of it like this: people with a poverty mindset will continue to attract lack and limitation, regardless of how much they educate themselves. Their results don’t match their potential because their beliefs keep them in a low vibration. This is where many people get stuck. They think new, positive thoughts, but their old beliefs reject these because they feel uncomfortable and unfamiliar. It’s like trying to plant a new seed in rocky soil; it just won’t take root.
You have to understand that your body is a mass of energy and how you feel is a conscious awareness of the vibration you’re in. When you feel good, you’re in a positive vibration. Want to feel good? Start by focusing on what you’re grateful for. This simple shift can change your entire vibration, making you more aligned with the wealth, happiness and success you wish.
Practical Steps to Harness the Law of Vibration (and Attraction)
Now that we’ve explored the ins and outs of the Law of Vibration, let me tell you how you can start using it in your life:
Define Your Desire Clearly: Be specific about what you want. The clearer you are, the better the universe can respond.
Visualise Your Goal Vividly: Every night, spend a few minutes imagining your goals as if they’re happening right now. Feel the emotions that come with achieving your desire.
Feel the Emotions Associated with Your Desire: It’s not just about seeing your dream life; it’s about feeling it. Emotions are the key to aligning your energy with your desires.
Practice Gratitude Daily: Start your day by listing a few things you’re thankful for. Gratitude sets a positive tone and aligns your energy with abundance.
Take Inspired Action: The Law of Attraction (and Vibration) isn’t just about thinking and feeling; it’s about doing. Take steps towards your goals, even if they’re small ones.
Reframe Your Perspective on Negative Events and Emotions: Life isn’t always sunshine and roses, and that’s okay. The key is to understand that negative events and emotions aren’t necessarily bad—they’re just part of the journey. When something doesn’t go your way, instead of getting stuck in a negative loop, try to find the hidden benefits or lessons in the situation. Ask yourself: What did I learn from this experience? How has this challenge helped me grow? By shifting your perspective, you can transform a seemingly negative event into a valuable opportunity for personal growth.
Challenge Your Limiting Beliefs: Regularly check in with your thoughts and beliefs. If you notice any that are holding you back, work on changing them. Use affirmations, meditation or journaling to shift your mindset.
For instance, I’ve had moments where fear of failure kept me from taking risks in my business. But instead of letting that fear paralyse me, I started asking myself why I was so afraid. I discovered that my fear was actually highlighting areas where I needed more preparation or knowledge. By addressing these gaps, I was able to move forward with confidence, turning fear into a motivator rather than a barrier.
Remember, the Law of Vibration is always working, whether you realise it or not. It’s like gravity—always there, always pulling things into your life based on the energy you’re putting out. If you want to change what you attract, you need to change your vibration by changing your thoughts and beliefs.
Remember, as Henry Ford said, “Whether you think you can or think you can’t, either way, you are right.” Your thoughts and feelings create your reality. Master them, and you’ll see how you can shape your destiny.
